Creatives Supporting Creatives is a beautiful thing!
At the end of June I connected with a woman KJ on social media. She reached out to me and wanted to expand her writing portfolio by conducting an interview with me on my work. Talk about an honor and perfect timing!
As June/July was a huge moment of transition for me, moving into my new studio space, the article was a great way to document this moment and give the world a little more insight into my creative process.
Thank you MilkToast Magazine and KJ Lie for the incredible opportunity to showcase my work and space to the world.

ARTICLE EXCERPT:
Do you ever scroll through your social media and realize how incredibly cool it is that you can connect with people so easily? The longer I live in Raleigh, NC, the more I spend time paying attention to local businesses, companies, musicians and artists! Once someone told me that it takes seven years to have a new city feel like “home”, but through social media, I think there is a really special connection you can create with a new place way faster than that fabled “seven years”.
Through arts and music and other things, I’ve been able to feel more in tune with Raleigh and meet some really incredible people. And this weeks interview includes not only my first Raleigh based artist, but someone I came across with the help of social media.
And aside from her work, Jackie Sanders combines her adoration for art with her impeccable way of organizing herself and filling spaces with an energy that screams “Jackie”.
And as Sanders continues to grow and expand her work, I want to formally congratulate her on the next step in her career! Sanders has, as of July 1st, moved into Artspace, her new studio in downtown Raleigh!
