From Art School to Balancing A Day Job While Building An Art Business, Transition Moments with Jackie Sanders
Balancing a day job with a creative practice is something they don’t cover in art school. In today’s episode Jackie shares her transition story on recreating a creative community after leaving art school and transitioning from the employee to business owner mindset.
Jackie Sanders, Abstract Artist
Artist Statement:
Transforming life’s mundane moments into memorable experiences, my work explores the constant push and pull that each of us face in our day to day lives. As I layer and manipulate abstract gestural marks with crisp geometric lines, my work explores the in-betweens - the space between tension and calm, light and shadow, gestural and rigid marks, and the resistance and release of control.
Opposing elements pull your eye across the panel allowing the viewer to travel in between elements as they seek stability in the chaos. Encouraging others to actively choose the future they are creating, my mission is to help others feel more connected to their minds, bodies, and the spaces in which they exist.
