NCMA Museum Store in Downtown Raleigh
J Sanders Studio New Shop Location | 409 W Martin St, Raleigh, NC 27603
While the NCMA West Building is closed for renovation in 2022, the NCMA is continuing to support and promote artists and artisans from around the state at other locations.
This initiative includes their new partnership CAM Raleigh for the first Museum Store experience in downtown Raleigh! Located within CAM (Martin Street entrance), this window-front retail space features a blend of NCMA merchandise, books, and an array of works by artists from local studios such as Artspace and Anchorlight.
Thank you NCMA and CAM Raleigh for inviting me to be part of this local artist display. Having my work along side many other talented NC artists is truly an honor! Work was delivered August 5th, 2022 and it will be on display through the fall.

From Intern to Featured Artist: A Full Circle Moment at CAM Raleigh
In addition to sharing my work with more people in the community, having my work featured at CAM Raleigh is a full circle moment for me in other ways too! In 2015 while completing my graduate degree at Virginia Tech I spent the summer in Raleigh working for CAM as a graduate intern.
During that time they had a featured exhibition called, “The Nothing That Is: a drawing show in 5 parts”. Wanting to further research and explore the area I decided to propose an exhibition record for the show. This book was self published and available for museum visitors the following year and was featured in digital form on CAM Raleigh’s website.
Experiencing Raleigh, North Carolina for the first time, while researching the exhibition I began to see the deep connections found between the 23 NC artists featured, as well as their connections to the communities that surrounded them.
The entries in this 157 page publication were created as the result of research, interviews, and studio visits that took place from July-September 2015.
