“Art Of Recovery” Community Event
October 26, 2022 | 6-9pm Dorothea Dix Park (Raleigh, NC)
Addiction is a disease that affects everyone in our community. We all have an acquaintance, co-worker, family member, partner, or friend who has been affected by addiction. After participating in Healing Transitions Art of Recovery Event last fall, I was so thankful that my eyes were opened to the incredible life-changing work that Healing Transitions do on a daily basis.
Experiencing the powerful, authentic, and supportive energy of the artists, performers, and event attendees, I knew I wanted to participate in the event again this year -- no doubt about it!
That is why I was beyond excited to not only serve on the planning committee this year but also to be asked to be the chairwoman of planning the event as well!
With a personal connection to the cause, I am a firm believer in Healing Transitions' mission to serve as a community resource for those brave enough to seek recovery BECAUSE recovery can't wait.
Between the power work of fellow exhibiting artists, live music, spoken word performances, food trucks, and a silent art auction, I’d say this night was a huge success!
I look forward to supporting this event and organization for years to come!

Recovery For All - BECAUSE recovery can’t wait! | Raleigh, NC
Healing Transitions is a Raleigh-based rehab center designed to rekindle the client's desire to live a happy and productive life through an innovative mutual-help program.
Their mission is to offer innovative peer-based, recovery-oriented services to homeless, uninsured and underserved individuals with alcoholism and other drug addictions. Their program is specifically designed to rekindle a person’s desire and ability to return to a meaningful and productive life.
Healing Transitions believes that all people struggling with addiction (especially the homeless, uninsured and underserved) deserve services on demand as many times as it takes. That’s why they offer both a men’s campus and a women’s campus tailored to serve their unique needs.
Since 2001, they’ve provided the following life-saving services to individuals in need at no cost to them. The only requirements: the individual must be a citizen of Wake County and older than 18.
Seeking recovery is a courageous act. Individuals battling substance use issues need to know there is a place where they can find hope again, a place where a supportive community of peers is built.
